  • Group Hospital and Surgical Insurance (GHS)
There are broadly three types, depending on how the value of benefits are quantified: Sub Limit Type : Where a dollar amount is fixed for each category of eligible expenses
Lump Sum Type : Where a dollar amount is fixed for all the eligible expenses incurred
Hybrid Type : Where a dollar amount or description is fixed for the Room & Board benefit and the rest of the eligible benefits are grouped into one or more categories (e.g. In-patient and Out-patient). The total amount of the latter benefits can vary.

  • Group Catastrophic Medical Insurance (GCM)
This is provided as an extension to the basic Sub Limit or Hybrid Hospital & Surgical Plan. As such, the first tier or deductible amount would be the basic Hospital & Surgical policy. Any excess would fall under the GCM that usually operates on a co-insurance basis with a maximum limit per disability or per policy year.

  • Group Term Life Assurance (GTL)
Term Life Insurance offers 24 hours worldwide cover against death, due to illness or accidental causes and against total and permanent disability. Quantum of cover can range from 1 year's annual salary (or 12 times basic monthly salary) to 5 years' annual salary (or 60 times basic monthly salary) or any pre-determined fixed sums.

  • Group Personal Accident (GPA)
Personal Accident Insurance offers 24-hour worldwide cover against death and dismemberment due to accidental causes. The compensation for dismemberment is subjected to a 'Schedule of Benefits' which pays according to the severity of the disablement. Quantum of cover can be the same as GTL or more.

  • Group Clinical Insurance (GCI)
Clinical Insurance, together with the Group Hospital & Surgical Insurance, usually comes as a total package known as Managed Health Care. It is a 24-hour cover with benefits like general practitioner care, specialist care, diagnostic tests, X-ray, and hospital care.

  • Group Dental Insurance (GDT)
Dental Insurance provides for a schedule of dental treatment from a panel of dentists which may be subject to an overall cap in amount. This is usually only viable for a staff size of about 10 or more.

  • Group Dread Disease Insurance (GDD)
Dread Disease Insurance offers 24-hour worldwide cover against diagnosis of any of some 30 major dread diseases including death and total and permanent disability. Quantum of cover is usually a lump sum ranging from $10,000 to $100,000 or a percentage of GTL cover.

  • Group Disability Income Insurance (GDI)
The purpose is to provide income protection or replacement of income to the insured in the event that he becomes disabled and requires prolonged treatment or hospitalisation for a period or up to a certain retirement age after a deferment period ranging from three to six months.

  • Group Travel & Accident Insurance (GTA)
Travel & Accident Insurance provides cover against death and dismemberment due to accidental causes whilst travelling and generally compensates for medical and medical evacuation expenses incurred and travel inconveniences like repatriation, trip cancellation, curtailment and hijacking, travel delay, missed connection expenses, baggage delay, loss of baggage and travel documents.
